Johannesburg residents are crazy about football and the teams playing in the Johannesburg Premier Soccer League (PSL) or in the First Division. Johannesburg will host several matches of the FIFA World Cup in 2010, to be held in South Africa.
In cricket, the Highveld Lions represent Johannesburg, Gauteng and the rest of North West Province at the Wanderers. They take part in the championships and MTN Supersport Local.
